29 - two more top tens and of course a rainout |
| Grand Forks was a night
loaded with excitement, to say the least.
We were fortunate enough to earn a front
row start in our heat. Jac nearly drove
off the track, in a close-call spinout,
Donny knocked him back on track, which cost
the 15 car a front end and gave us a 2nd
place finish.
We lined up 3rd to start in the A Main.
It couldn't get any more exciting than that!
And what a race it was, high banks and no
crash walls? Makes for a fun event to watch,
but a nightmare to race. Ask Kraig Kinser
how he felt when he rolled out and it took
the officials 5 laps to realize a car was
missing. Jac was gaining speed and momentum
when he got antsy and attempted to squeeze
past Madsen and instead found himself knocked
up against the front-stretch wall. As he
was regaining control, the 2 leaders, Madsen
and Jason Meyers took each other out offering
up the lead position on a silver platter
to the next guy. <read

18 - haud geared up for river cities by tony
veneziano |
| Grand Forks,
ND— June 26, 2008—If ever there
was a track that was perfectly suited for
Jac Haudenschild’s always aggressive,
no holds barred, take no prisoners driving
style, it would River Cities Speedway in
Grand Forks, North Dakota. The high-banked
three-tenths-mile bullring lends itself
to side-by-side racing with blazing fast
speeds as the drivers run just inches off
of the wall, with all of this happening
in just about 10 seconds each lap.
Haudenschild will visit River
Cities Speedway for the second consecutive
season with the Advance Auto Parts World
of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Friday,
June 27 in the opener of the Gerdau Ameristeel
Northern Tour which will encompass a total
of four events in the state of North Dakota
this weekend, along with the final two races
in August. This weekend’s race will
be part of the Duel in the Dakotas which
will wrap up at Red River Valley Speedway
on Saturday, June 28. Haudenschild won the
overall title for the Duel in the Dakotas
last season, after finishing second at River
Cities Speedway and winning at Red River
Valley Speedway. <READ

16 - Latest Results |
| The Carnahan clan was gathered
in full at Huset's Friday night to witness
one of the most exciting races of the year
as Jason Meyers and Donny Schatz lead an
all out battle for second position. As we
were watching this, our forecast was either
we'd finish 2nd or 22nd if these 2 dueling
drivers took each other out.
We gladly ended up snagging a 4th place
finish from an 11th place starting position
thrilled to provide the owner's family a
rather successful night of racing. Yes indeed,
the atmosphere was high when later on both
families got together as Alice, Lon Carnahan's
mother, put together her usual post race
fiesta.
We put a positive twist to the infamous
Friday the 13th! <read

9 , 2008 -flying high in knoxville - tumble
at tri city |
| 2 nights of racing at Knoxville
with a car count above 50 provided us with
very honorable results. 5th on the first
night and 9th on the second, we thought
we had survived a pretty grueling week-end.
Oddly, during these 2 nights of racing,
numerous teams were victim to broken rear-ends,
dropped cylinders, and motors waving the
white flag of defeat. We thought we were
safe, but the week-end wasn't over yet.
